EMMA PATERSON

In Emma Paterson’s most recent body of work she has been creating potential proposals for earthworks (earthworks - coined by Robert Smithson - are works of art in which the art and the landscape are inextricably linked).

Emma’s interest in the interplay between form and space has developed from her intrigue in the juxtaposition of industrial objects within the landscape. Her work explores the relationship between the natural and the man made, calling upon the art works and writings of Smithson to further investigate the possibilities between structure and surrounding.

Emma was awarded the Stewart Memorial Prize in 2013.
